Shadowsong Alliance BrothersInArms guild rules (subject to change as needed and without notice):

(The terms guildmates and guildies are used interchangably. Alt means an alternate character of your own on the same server.)

  I. There is a real world outside of WOW.

     A. This game should not be your first priority.

        1. All members must understand that unexpected things happen, and anyone can log off or go afk at any time, without notice or obligation to stay.

        2. Take care of real life things first, so you don't have to worry about them while playing.

           a. This includes, but is not limited to spouse, kids, bills (don't forget your ISP and WOW bills!), and any other responsibilities you may have.

II. All members help each other.

     A. Grouping/questing (See Looting below)

        1. All players represent the guild as a whole. Please remember this when grouping with people outside the guild.

           a. Members should be willing to group with other members.

           b. Members should be willing to answer any questions posed to the rest of the guild.

              1. This includes, but is not limited to times when doing instances.

     B. Free Trade

       1. The object of this guild is NOT to get the very best items, it is to help everyone have fun playing WOW.

       2. All guildmates will give needed items away at no cost to all other guildmates.

          a. Guildies should not object if a player requests reimbursement for costs of items needed to produce an item.

          b. If you find an item that you cannot use, and you don't have an Alt that would like it, please consider offering it to the guild (especially the enchanters).

       3. Guildies who sell items obtained from the guild in the Auction House will offer to pass the amount obtained back to the giver.

     C. Information

       1. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask it.

          a. Thottbot.com is an excellent source of information. Please check this first.

          b. The forums on worldofwarcraft.com do as well, but keep in mind that they are always changing.

       2. The guild Head, Pubbermoon, will be keeping a list of other useful websites, so if you need info, let her (actually, it's a him) know.

  III. Item/money Requests

     A. Harassment

       1. You may ask politely for needed items/money in the guild chat, but be prepared to aquire the item from other sources, including yourself.

          a. No one likes spam. You do it, you're gone. It's that simple.

          b. Your guildies do not owe you anything, and are not slaves.

       2. Any behavior that offends another guild member is not tolerated. If asked to discontinue any subject of chat, or any action, you are expected to do so.

  IV. Looting/Items

     A. Be Courteous

       1. When looting in a group, and especially in an instance, wait until it is SAFE to loot before looting. This means no "ninja" looting. (If you only have one mob left, and there is not going to be a problem taking it down, it is considered safe.)

          a. There are times when a safe situation turns dangerous again. If you're in the middle of a loot, and adds appear, finish the loot as fast as you can, and get back into the fray.

       2. If looting rules are set to Group Loot, Free For All, or Need Before Greed, pick up the loot that is closest to you. No one likes to clean up after your messes.

       3. See rule II.B.2.b.

       4. Some groups don't like it when you roll for items you cannot use, regardless of your purpose in wanting them.

          a. I don't mind if you want to get something for an Alt, or for someone in the guild, but be aware of how your group wants to loot.

          b. Establish looting methods when you first group with others to avoid any conflicts.

     B. Bank character

       1. Access to the guild bank character is gained when full membership is obtained.

  V. PvP/Role Playing

     A. We don't play on a PvP server, but if you want to go on raids, it's up to you.

       1. I don't really approve of greifing, but I have done it before. Extreme griefing is grounds for dismissal from the guild, at the leader's discression.

     B. Role playing can be a lot of fun, but if you want to do it, just let the rest of the guild know, so we can interact with you appropriately.

  VI. Discipline

     A. Violation of any of these rules may result in the lowering of your rank or expulsion from the guild without notice, at the discretion of the Officer that invited you into the guild. Those invited by Veterans will be disciplined by the Head.

     B. Those players that are expelled from the guild may only return at the descretion of the Head.

       1. Those players that return will be watched with extra care. If expelled a second time, that player will be added to the Head's (and/or officer's) ignore list.

  VII. Have fun!
